Phoenix Youth Theatre: Annie

Celebrating its 25th anniversary with a production of the beloved musical ‘Annie’. This heartwarming tale of the spirited orphan Annie, who finds a new family against all odds, holds special significance as it was the inaugural show for Phoenix Theatre back in 1991. Join them for this milestone event and experience the enduring charm of this classic. ‘Annie’ is running from the 25-28th June at the Aberdeen Arts Centre. Tickets are available here:

Light The Blue 2025

Aberdeen’s festival for young creatives, running from 1-15th June. With over 25 events across theatre, music, dance, film, and art, it showcases bold, youth-led work in venues across the city. July

Attic Theatre: Our House

Founded in the late 1950s by drama educator Annie Inglis, Attic Theatre has long been a staple of Aberdeen’s amateur theatre scene. Known for its lively mix of plays, musicals, and pantomimes, the company helped revive the Tivoli Theatre’s festive tradition in 2013 with Robin Hood and the Babes in the Wood, and has since brought the magic of panto back to the city each year. Now, Attic returns to the Tivoli Theatre from 2-5th July with Our House, featuring the music of Madness. Grab your tickets here –

Giz Giz Youth Theatre: School of Rock

One of Aberdeen’s longest-running youth groups is bringing the high-energy musical School of Rock to the Tivoli Theatre from 9-12th July. Based on the hit 2003 film, the story follows Dewey Finn, a failed rock musician who forms a band with his students to compete in the Battle of the Bands. This exciting production will showcase the incredible talent of Giz Giz’s young performers. Get your tickets now:

Hallirackit Theatre: tick, tick… BOOM!

Following a successful debut at the Edinburgh Fringe last year, Hallirackit Theatre brings Jonathan Larson’s tick, tick… BOOM! to The Lemon Tree from 21-23rd August. Known for its raw emotion and dynamic score, the show offers an intimate look into the sacrifices and perseverance required to chase one’s dreams. Tickets are available here:
