Last year we saw the exciting announcement of everyone’s favourite automotive machine, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, returning to stages with Adam Garcia at the wheel as Caractacus Potts. Now the full casting for the production’s Scottish dates have been announced. This new production is directed by Thom Southerland (Titanic, Parade), choreographed by Karen Bruce (BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, The Bodyguard) and designed by Morgan Large (Newsies, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat), this ravishing award-winning musical is bursting with unforgettable songs by the Sherman Brothers including Toot Sweets, Hushabye Mountain, Truly Scrumptious and of course the Academy Award-nominated title song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Joining Adam Garcia on this phantasmagorical adventure is none other than Scotland’s very own Elaine C. Smith, who will be playing the infamous childcatcher! Smith will play the musical’s Scottish dates in Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Inverness. Starring along side Elaine and Adam is Liam Fox as Grandpa Potts, Ellie Nunn as Truly Scrumptious, Martin Callaghan as Baron/Sid, Jenny Gayner as Baroness/Violet, Adam Stafford as Boris, Michael Joseph as Gorgan and John MacAuley as The Toymaker.
With this, there is fabulous ensemble taking on the cartoonish characters featured in this iconic musical. The ensemble are as follows; Charlie Bishop, Ruaraidh Blackwood, Hadrian DeLacy, Belle Kizzy Green, Tia Gyngell, Kirsty Ingram, Bibi Jay, Isabella Mason, Joe Press, Theo UK Rose, Molly Rees Howe, Callum Train and Luke Woollaston. With Gracie Cochrane, Ayron English, Isla Ithier, Isabella Manning, Charlie McGuire, Jasmine Nyenya, Roshan Thomson and Louis Wilkins sharing the roles of Jemima and Jeremy Potts.
