Forth Children’s Theatre have announced their 43rd Edinburgh Fringe production, ‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie: Teen Edition’. Running at Broughton High School from 2nd – 10th August 2024.
‘Everybody’s Talking About Jamie’ is based on the true story of Jamie Campbell, famously featured in the BBC Three documentary ‘Jamie: Drag Queen at 16’. The hit West-End musical follows Jamie New, a 16-year-old, who doesn’t quite fit in. Instead of pursuing a traditional career, he dreams of becoming a drag queen. Uncertain about his future, Jamie knows one thing for sure — he’s going to be a sensation. Supported by his loving mother and amazing friends, Jamie overcomes discrimination and bullying to step out of the darkness — and into the spotlight.
FCT are currently gearing up for their 45th Anniversary Gala which will take place at the Churchill Theatre from 4th to 6th April, however they are one step ahead of the game and are currently advertising for their 2024 Fringe Production auditions.
The casting call states:
“This production requires a versatile cast therefore we are on the hunt for a talented, energetic and fabulous company to hit the Broughton High School stage this August. We are particularly keen to hear from members of the LGBTQ+ community. As well as young performers of all ethnicities (aged 10 to 18) to help build a diverse company for this production.
Auditions will take place on Sunday 14th April, with rehearsals commencing in late April. All auditionees should have good availability from April till August. With this there will be a two-week holiday from rehearsals in July, the dates for this break will be confirmed once we have cast availability.”
