Ellie from Edinburgh People’s Theatre talks about her involvement in the company’s Fringe show ‘Whisky Galore’ with our co-editor, Rebecca Donati. ‘Whisky Galore’ is running at Mayfield Sailsbury Church from Friday 4th till Saturday 19th August (except Sunday 6th & 13th August) at 14:30 or 19:30.
The play is based in 1942, during World War Two. The Todday islanders are in despair – no whisky! It’s being exported to pay for the war. But when a shipload of whisky runs aground, can the thirsty islanders “rescue” it without attracting unwanted attention from the army stationed on the island?
