Following three years of covering the Edinburgh Fringe, this year we are planning to return with a bigger coverage than ever. However, to do this we need help!
Theatre Scotland is a non-profit organization that prides itself on operating across Scotland with a team of volunteer reviewers. The Edinburgh Fringe is our busiest time of year, where we have over 100 review requests within the period of a month. With the size of our team and their own personal activity during the Fringe, it’s extremely difficult to fulfil the demands of the coverage that we aspire to achieve.
In 2024 we want to cover as many productions as possible at the Edinburgh Fringe, especially homegrown productions. As advertised, we are currently looking for critics to cover the Fringe, for this period we are accepting applications from all those with a knowledge and passion for theatre who will be able to cover 5 or more productions at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe. This is over the space of the entire festival, although a few of our critics have watched 12 productions in one day (it’s not recommended -unless you have unlimited coffee on demand). We would love as many critics as possible from all walks of life, even those visiting from afar to enjoy the festival.
If you are interested in joining our team and seeing loads of theatre this August, please email us (contact@theatrescotland.co.uk) with your CV and either a short writing sample or a paragraph on why you would like to join our team. We look forward to hearing from you!
