‘Myra DuBois’ A Problem Shared’ (Underbelly – The Dairy Room) | Review By Lewis C. Baird

Myra DuBois returns (reluctantly) to the Edinburgh Fringe with her new show ‘A Problem Shared’, where the iconic drag queen becomes an agony aunt. Myra is playing Underbelly Bistro Square (The Dairy Room) at 19:45 until 28th August.

Myra is hysterical, her unfiltered delivery with a tinge of glitter is enough to make the dourest-faced audience members chuckle. The full design of the show embeds interaction as a key ingredient, giving ephemerality to each performance, aimed to make the show personal to each audience member. This really pays off and Myra’s off-the-cuff humour is stellar, it really is funny and there isn’t a moment of hesitation before delivering an absolute belter of a one-liner.

Accompanied by her sister, Rose, we see a calamity of a relationship unfold on stage. It is riotous; however, does it add to the overall show? I’m not sold on that one. It does however supply entertainment and give Myra someone to bounce off of. With the addition of a Fringe guest star, you really do see this show going onto TV, and I think it would work. They would give Graham Norton a run for his money.

Myra DuBois’ ‘A Problem Shared’ is a hilarious show, giving the audience a chance to be mocked by an infamous drag queen, what else would you want to do at 19:45?

Rating: 4 out of 5.
