Emotional, passionate, artistic and breath-taking, Soul Penny Circus gives us an incredible circus/physical theatre piece that stays with you for a long time.
Told through movement and music, the performers invite the audience to take part in their games to remind us of the power of play, perfect for both children and adults (who need reminding). With characters of a Wonderland-esque nature that take you through the lands of dreams and nightmares to save a friend and reunite them with their family.
The performers carry each other and the audience into different landscapes in a mixture of a fabric, lights, gymnastics, puppetry and clown. Soul Penny Circus gives us a uniquely different perspective of clown and reminds us the variations of performance and story-telling that can suck you in.
What may be seen at first as overwhelming and busy leaves you wanting more and amazed by the amount of trust and love this huge ensemble piece, where each person has a memorable moment. At times may seem a little creepy, bending the genre but keeps the 4th wall shattered in its cooperation and invitation to be a part of the playfulness of this performance.
